Accelerating the global shift to renewable energy at the speed this decade demands
~35%
of global electricity generation is sourced from renewable energy
71%
of the electricity demand growth in 2025 led by solar energy
$12T
of investment required to meet the 3x renewables push
ReNew2030
We mobilise philanthropy to scale wind and solar energy fivefold by 2030 to accelerate renewable energy deployment across the power sector through regional partnerships.
New Gift Boosts ReNew2030’s work to Scale Renewable Energy Faster
The contribution will empower partners around the world to scale up their high-impact work—helping support a faster, more equitable power sector transition to renewables
To deliver the energy future that works for everyone, the transition must be:
First
The power sector must decarbonise first to drive the transition across the economy. Wind and solar can already be scaled rapidly, and accelerating their deployment is crucial to supporting electrification in end-use sectors.
Fast
Renewables must grow much faster. The pace of build-out is still too slow, and without a major ramp-up this decade, renewables won’t displace fossil fuels fast enough from the power sector to stay within the 1.5°C threshold.
Fair
The transition must be equitable, leaving no person or place behind. The shift to renewable energy should protect affected communities and help close the long-standing funding gap where it’s needed most.
The ReNew2030 coalition is a network of regional climate foundations and transnational organisations that support and coordinate a diverse group of local experts around the world.
“ReNew2030 helps ensure that peer organisations and partners can strengthen alignment across geographies, so that we are more than the sum of our parts and can deliver outsized impact”

“Through ReNew2030, we have seen grid-connected solar power major industrial zones, local businesses build green project pipelines, and government institutions design frameworks to mobilise billions for climate action. These are no longer pilots in isolation; they are becoming part of a connected ecosystem for clean energy in Nigeria”
